The following program is used to print PeopleSoft Chartfield barcodes. Barcodes can be printed on either paper or on avery labels (30 per sheet) through a laser printer. When sending mail, departments can use this progam to help make sure their mail is charged to the correct account number and also make mail processing more efficient for Campus Postal Services. In order to use this program, Microsoft Access version 2000 or higher must be available on the user's computer. If the barcode does not print, the ActiveX control must be installed on the user's computer. Click here to get the ActiveX control. Choose "open" to execute the installation. Installing the ActiveX control only needs to be done once.
NOTICE to Windows XP users: You may need to unblock the file before it can be opened. This can be done by right clicking on the file, choosing properties, and then under the general tab scroll down and click "unblock" and then apply .
NOTICE to Access 2007 users: At this time the barcode program has not been updated to Access 2007. Please contact Darin Lee at 777-2279 for an alternative method for printing barcodes if you are a Access 2007 user.
THANK YOU FOR USING OUR BARCODING SYSTEM.

The following link will print barcodes on Avery 5160 labels. Click here to save Chartfield Number Barcode Program to your computer.
If choosing to print labels, only the top envelope in a bundle needs the barcode label. Please do not place the label in the lower right corner of the envelope as this area is reserved for the USPS delivery barcode.
If you wish to print on Avery 8167 labels, click on the link below. These labels will only work on chartfield numbers that are nine digits long. Click here for file to print on Avery 8167 Labels
Instructions on printing and using barcodes:
Once the barcode program is saved to the user's computer, it can be opened. Choose the account number you wish to charge postage. If the account number is not listed, contact Campus Postal Services and we will update the program with the account number. You will need to re-download the account number barcode program.
When choosing the print on paper option, barcodes will be printed on the upper and lower half of the page. The halfsheet of paper can be bundled with the mail just as when bundling the envelopes and writing the account number on the top envelope. When Campus Postal Services finishes processing the mail, the halfsheet with the barcode will be placed back in the appropriate mailbox to be reused if desired.
If using labels, the department must place a label with the correct account number barcode only on the top envelope in a group of envelopes that are banded together. The position of the account number barcode label on the envelope must be placed either below the return address or 1.5 inches below the upper right hand corner of the envelope. It may also be place on the left side of envelope perpendicular to the bottom edge. In this position, however, the label must be a minimum of 5/8 of an inch above the bottom edge. Do not place labels in the lower right hand corner of the envelope.
