Campus Postal Services
First Class Mail Preparation
'

All envelopes being charged to the same PeopleSoft Chartfield number must be banded together with the chartfield number barcode printed on the top envelope.  The same procedure is to be followed for flats (non letter size mail) and foreign mail.  If the letter size envelopes are to be sealed by Campus Postal Services,  the flaps of the envelopes must overlap one another.

All UND first class letter size mail must have either the ancillary service endorsement  of "Address Service Requested" or "Return Service Requested" printed on each mail piece.  The use of "Address Service Requested" means that if the addressee has moved, the mail piece will be forwarded free of charge and a copy of the new address is sent back to the mailer at the cost of $.50/piece.  "Return Service Requested" means that the mail piece is returned the sender free of charge with the new address.  The mailing department is required to update their mail list when a new address is returned to them.  This procedure must be followed in order to meet the U.S. Postal Service's move update requirement.  FastForward, which is an electronic method to update addresses prior to mailing, is another option that will satisfy the move update requirement of the U.S Postal Service. Please contact Campus Postal Services for this service at 777-2279.

First Class mailings of 500 pieces or more can be mailed at presorted first class rates. The indicia must be preprinted in the upper right corner on brochures and self-mailers (see sample indicia below). The mailing must be brought to Campus Postal Services in zip code order or Campus Postal Services can address the mailing with its addressing printer. Contact Campus Postal Services for more details on this service.
